Wax Pattern Production

wax mould Wax patterns are manufactured by injecting molten wax into an aluminium mould. Simple components, like the tool handle left, are made in two part split moulds.

Complex patterns with cavities, holes or undercuts require moulds with internal moving parts. This is to allow the wax pattern to be removed from the mould without damaging it.

wax mould Moulded patterns are trimmed by hand to remove sprues and excess wax from where the two halves of the mould were joined.
