From direct wax built sacrificial thermojet wax patterns* to SLA +Silicone rubber tooling**, Investacast typically can produce cast metal samples within 10 working days* to 15 working days**.
Very complex geometries and undercuts are formed with ease by using Silicone rubber tools { soft tooling}. Cost savings of up to 80% of "hard cut" tooling can be made using silicone tooling. Production quantities from "soft tooling" are limited as the Silicone has a limited "life". Dimensional tolerances achievable by this route are typically 150% of our standard casting tolerances Investacast Limited - Size/Limits from hard tooling. Some surface definition and geometrical tolerances will also vary outside our standard limits from hard tooling.
